Reports indicate mental health issues, including hearing voices, and that he allegedly made threats to shoot up the National Guard base in Maine

While the suspect has not yet been named, the Lewiston Police Department identified 40-year-old Robert R. Card, of Bowdoin, Maine, as a person of interest Wednesday(25) night.

Card, is reported to be a firearm instructor and has military experiences. Its largely known that once a person is considered mentally ill and hear voices, the access to keep and bear a firearm is legally compromised.

The main stream news and local police report, the shooter is at large, considered armed and dengeous:

"Law Enforcement is attempting to locate Robert Card, as a person of interest regarding the mass shooting at Schemengees Bar and Sparetime Recreation this evening," Lewiston police announced in a Facebook post. "Card should be considered armed and dangerous. Please contact law enforcement if you are aware of his whereabouts."

Update October 28th: Card was found dead by dumpster near a recycling plant in Lisbon, Maine with an apparent "self-inflicted" gunshot wound to head.

He was recently fired from his job at the recycling center. Authorities had "found a note at Card’s home indicating that he planned to take his own life before police found him."
